This major undertaking involved significant alterations and renovations to an existing four-story building designed for the elderly. The original structure was comprised of 32 efficiency units and 67 single bedroom units along with 57 total parking spaces.
Built in 1970, the existing structure consists of slab on grade construction, metal panel and brick exterior walls, precast concrete floors, block and wood-framed walls, sloped wood roof trusses, and asphalt shingles.
Work involved the renovation of 99-units including expansion and conversion of all efficiency units into one-bedroom units. In addition, ten handicap units and two sensory impaired units were constructed as well as a new elevator and space to house socialization, community, and supportive service areas. Site management, parking and landscape improvements were also included along with a new maintenance building.
