Upper Arlington High School Athletics Facilities

Upper Arlington High School Athletic Facilities consisted of the following. The demo and reconstruction of 10 Tennis courts was completed in the summer of 2021. The baseball and softball facilities include masonry outbuildings and dugout structures, and two multipurpose practice fields for use by all sports. Enhanced design included Ruscilli managing the Owners Contractor to install Field Turf in all locations except for the outfield for both fields. The outfields were installed as sod grass. Softball and Baseball facility schedules were accelerated to complete before the start of the 2022 seasons. A new Varsity Gym, three-court multipurpose gym, a 10-lane natatorium with a 500-seat spectator gallery, a newly renovated and expanded stadium has also been built with a new 8-lane track, new home side bleachers, and a new press box were also included in the scope of work. The upgraded 8,500-seat stadium was rededicated in August ‘19.

OSU Lacrosse Stadium

This new $22.5M, 15,000sf (2,500-seat) state-of-the-art Lacrosse Stadium offers a new synthetic turf field with a heating system, grandstand building with press box, support building for team game day locker rooms, concession & restrooms buildings for patrons on game day, tiered & turf berm seating for additional game viewing areas and new drive between the stadium and the Covelli-Jennings arena. The Columbus community will also benefit from the stadium through youth camps and clinics.

OSU Recreational Fields Improvements

This project consists of improvements at two recreational fields sites on main campus. Renovations to the 11-acre Coffey Road Park site include refurbishing of and additions to the existing sports lighting system, along with extensions of the irrigation system to provide multi-use recreation fields to accommodate flag football, ultimate Frisbee, NCAA soccer, intramural soccer, softball and other outdoor sports activities. A new 2,400sf support building was constructed to house remote Rec Sports offices, equipment storage and dispersal, restrooms, and a garage for maintenance equipment. This undertaking required the integration of a new underground water detention system, utility relocations and restoration replacement of the existing grass fields. Nearby Lincoln Tower Park, home to two existing practice fields for “TBDBITL” (The Best Damn Band in the Land!), as well as intramural and rec sports events, also saw improvements through the replacement of the synthetic turf at these fields.

Fortress Field

This new 250-acre complex, located at the former Columbus Motor Speedway in Obetz, Ohio, is the first facility in the United States designed specifically for the sport of rugby. The field also accommodates soccer, lacrosse, and football.

The 6500-seat 18,000 square-foot three-story castle-like stadium structure includes offices, concession stands and restrooms while featuring 160-foot tall light standards distributing up to 100 foot-candles of illumination. The complex also includes a large courtyard for events, concerts and festivals.

In addition to rugby, the stadium serves as the home field for the Ohio Machine Major League Lacrosse team.

 

Bo Jackson’s Elite Sports Facility

This new multi-sport complex features a 106,000 square foot x 70 ‘ high clear span air-supported structure connected to an 8,000 square foot clubhouse. The air structure and its components utilize a Farley dome solution connected to utilities, vaults, specialty foundations, and equipment.

The facility offers professional training, physical conditioning, and competitive sports play for a variety of turf athletic venues including baseball, softball, football, soccer, and lacrosse. The center also offers competitive leagues, private group clinics and summer training camps for athletes of all ages. Bo Jackson’s Elite Sports is renowned as one of the leading indoor sports training centers in the country.

 

Ohio Expo Agriculture Pavilion

This 240,000 square foot equestrian center contains 195,000 square feet of exhibition space as well as an adjoining 300’x 150’ open air riding pavilion for the Ohio Expo Center and State Fair.

The main structure houses 1,000 horse stalls, riding arena, practice arena, wash bays, restrooms, electrical service room, multiple offices, and substantial parking and circulation areas to accommodate users, spectators, truck and trailer traffic.

The complex also offers a sophisticated ventilation system, cupolas, perimeter abuse walls, waste storage and removal areas, electric power and water hydrants to service all stalls.

Muirfield Village Golf Club

Clubhouse Renovation & Addition

This 16,000sf undertaking involved extensive renovations to Nicklaus Hall, the main dining room and the lower level of the clubhouse. The project included two large food service areas, installation of a loading dock, bar, private dining, indoor and outdoor dining, and clock tower. The lower level is sized to accommodate tournaments and the upper level for main dining room events. There are two fireplaces in the space, one wood burning in the outdoor dining area and a two-way gas fireplace between the bar and indoor dining area.

Fitness Center & Cart Barn

To meet the fitness needs of the Club’s membership, Ruscilli also completed a new co-ed Training and Fitness Center. This standalone building features a separate entry lobby, meeting space, fitness classrooms, cardio, weight training, and stretching area. The Center is complimented with both men and women full locker rooms, private steam rooms, and two treatment rooms. Below the Fitness Center, a new lower level cart storage facility was added consisting of cart storage space, club repair room, caddie locker, and break room.

Headquarters Building

This two-story 15,000sf building serves as the new Tournament headquarters for Dublin’s nationally recognized Memorial Tournament located at world-renowned Muirfield Village Golf Club.

In addition to serving as the Tournament’s communications and nerve center, the new facility offers a members’ golf teaching center on the ground floor including a golf simulator, heated tees for practice during inclement weather, and garage that opens to the practice range. Offices for the Tournament’s administrative staff are located on the second floor along with an open terrace.

Aquatic Adventures

This 22,000 SF facility includes a six-lane, 25 yard lap pool, 25’x45’ scuba diving pool, retail areas, locker and changing facilities, fitness room, offices, and conference rooms.

The HVAC system includes a Dextron System for efficient dehumidification and energy conservation. The water filtration system includes both chlorination and UV filtration.

The facility is used for swim team practices, recreational swimmers, scuba diving instruction, new swimmer introduction, and offers rental equipment for scuba diving vacations around the world.
