University of Findlay Student Life Services & College of Business

This new building complex serves multiple functions under one roof including student life, college of business, bookstore, food services, student services, mail and copy center, and gathering space “hangar”. The configuration and juxtaposition of the building reinforces the newly formed “green” which acts as an extension of the Union to provide a formal connection to the campus.

The Student Life Center encourages social interaction by offering comfortable interior and exterior spaces for various activities. The Central Gathering Place is broken into different zones to support multiple program functions. The Book Store is designed to reflect successful retail planning strategies. The College of Business offers its own unique entry and occupies the entire upper floor including classrooms along an open corridor with clerestory lighting for work sessions and study groups.

OSU Student Academic Services Building & Lane Avenue Parking Garage

This project included a new Student Academic Services Building and a 1500-space parking garage. The Student Academic Services Building relocated core student services functions from Lincoln Tower into a new facility consisting of approximately 71,000 square feet. The services housed in this building include Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, Fees and Deposits, and Student Loan Disbursements. The Project site was bounded by Neil Avenue, Tuttle Park Place, and Lane Avenue. The corner of Lane Avenue and Tuttle Park Place is a gateway to the Columbus campus. The project design incorporated the new structures into an integrated campus design plan with consideration for the existing recreation center and possible future development.

OSU Schottenstein Center Basketball Practice Facility

This 27,000 square foot new basketball practice facility and weight training facility was constructed adjacent the existing Jerome Schottenstein Center for the Department of Athletics. Scope included construction of the new weight training and conditioning facility over the existing loading dock on the west side of the building. The work also included relocation and/or replacement of existing utilities in the area of construction.

OSU Indoor Golf Facility

This 19,250 square feet Indoor Golf Facility serves the Men and Women varsity golf teams and offers heated outdoor hitting bays, cart storage building, and associated site improvements located at The Ohio State University Golf Course. “I’ve had several people visit the facility over the past few days and they were blown away by the magnitude of what you have accomplished. Each time I walk in the building, I’m amazed and excited about what has been accomplished. Our team is so excited for the building to be completed and to have a place to call home!” Donnie Darr, Men’s Golf Coach – The Ohio State University

Hocking College Dormitory

Ruscilli was selected by Hocking College to oversee the design and construction of their new 402 bed student housing facilities. The landscape of this College offered several challenges that required extensive planning and problem solving by the project team. Two residence halls were safely constructed on the side of a hill containing mine shafts abandoned in the 1930’s. The mines had to be grouted and a deep foundation was put in place for the two structures. A cost effective approach was implemented using a steel staggered truss system to frame the two seven-story buildings with a minimal amount of columns. While designing to a tight budget, our team developed a solution that accommodated the adverse site conditions and incorporated the “Green Building” requirements. Construction was executed with minimal disruption to ongoing college activities.

Belmont College Health & Sciences Center

This new 33,000 square feet Health Sciences Center is constructed on 54-acres due north of the Belmont College main campus. The site is located on reclaimed strip mine land consisting of pyritic shale bedrock.

The new facility sets the architectural tone for the extension of the current campus. The building includes space accommodating the College’s Science, Nursing, Medical Assistance, and Emergency Medical programs. This includes classrooms and laboratories for General Biology, Microbiology, Human Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, and Physics.

The building also offers support space consisting of laboratory storage and preparation, chemical storage, cadaver/simulation lab, faculty offices, conference rooms, student lounge/cyber café, and childcare center.

In addition, development of the project site involved construction of multiple roadways within the new campus property, accessible parking, pedestrian walkways, site lighting, landscaping and utilities.
